Evolv Express® uses advanced sensor technology and artificial intelligence to pinpoint and distinguish a wide variety of potential threats from many common everyday items, such as phones and keys. Evolv Express is designed to enhance security, create situational awareness by alerting on potential threats, and support threat response with a “Red Box” directed search.

The connected Express tablet seeks to provide a fast, noninvasive threat resolution by providing security operators with visibility into who to search, helping eliminate potential bias in decision-making, and where to search via a “Red Box” for efficient secondary screening. The Red Box is shown on an image of the person who alerted to show the location(s) of the potential threat(s), It is designed to reduce the need for manual top-to-bottom searching, which can be uncomfortable for the operator and intrusive for the guest.

Yes, with Evolv Express you can integrate directly with Genetec Security Center, Milestone XProtect, and Titan HST. In addition, partners and customers can create integrations of their own using Evolv’s Open API. These integrations are designed to bring Evolv Express alerts, metadata, and threat images into third-party security ecosystem components. Additionally, if using the optional front/rear facing cameras built into Express, you can stream the video directly into your Security Operations Center (SOC), Video Management System (VMS), or other AI video analytics system.

Evolv Express can screen up to 4,000 people per hour for a dual-lane system, with throughput dependent on the venue’s sensitivity settings and threat resolution process. Families and groups can enter a venue together at their normal walking pace, providing a welcoming experience that seeks to maintain dignity and may accelerate entry for guests, students, patients, employees, and beyond.

Evolv Express is intended to be user-friendly for security and non-security professionals. The Red Box on the Evolv tablet, which identifies the potential threat location, is designed to help operators reduce search time and speed up resolution.

Yes, the system has built-in wheels, allowing it to be moved to different locations for your venue and facility needs. In addition, the optional Mobility Cart solution is purpose-built to hold up to two side towers and four tablet stands — the standard configuration for a dual-lane system. A weather-resistant cover for the larger center tower stores the two floor mats with cabling installed, simplifying set-up, transport, and storage of the systems.

Yes, there are indoor and outdoor systems available. The outdoor model is ruggedized for operation in wet weather and temperature extremes and is portable over rough surfaces.

Is there an additional cost for the MyEvolv Portal and analytics? No. Every customer receives access to the MyEvolv Portal and Evolv Insights® analytics platform with every subscription. With the MyEvolv Portal and companion mobile app, you can easily manage and configure your Evolv Express scanners remotely and access key ingress metrics like visitor flow and alert rates to inform your security and operations planning.

Evolv Visual Gun Detection™ aims to extend security beyond entrances by leveraging AI-based analysis of your security cameras to detect brandished firearms — designed to swiftly alert teams to a potential threat and enable a response.

Evolv Visual Gun Detection adds another layer of venue security and aims to allow customers to extend their detection perimeter beyond entry points when combined with Evolv Express. When choosing to upgrade your entry point, you provide your First Reactor — the security professional stationed at the venue’s entry point or near an Evolv Express® system — the ability to receive prompt alerts featuring live annotated video of the detected threat, providing a rapid security response.

Choose from localized alerts to your security operations center — self-managed via mobile and web — or monitoring done by a third-party service. Entry point alerts with live annotated video can also be transmitted to the Evolv Tablet.

Yes. Evolv Visual Gun Detection is designed to help enable a unified threat response throughout the venue by integrating with your existing security operations systems, such as VMS (Video Management System), Mass Notification Systems, access control, and more.

The most important camera requirement is the ability to connect to the camera using real-time streaming protocol (RTSP). Most modern cameras will support this. In most cases, an analog camera will have much lower video resolution and will not work well for EVGD.

Alert information can be sent to first responders in a few different ways. We encourage customers to work directly with their local law enforcement to develop the best process for you on how to provide them with information.

Evolv is dedicated to safety, quality, and consistency of our products.  The Evolv Express® system has been safety tested and meets the following certifications:

• IEEE C95.1-2019 Standard for Safety Level with Respect to EMF
• ICNIRP Guidelines for Limiting Exposure to Time-Varying Electric and Magnetic Fields 2010 (1 Hz -100 kHz)
• NRTL-certified in accordance with UL 61010-1, CSA 61010-1, and EN 61010-1
• Americans with Disabilities Act (compliant access)*
• RoHS (restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical equipment)

*All configurations except outdoor model with standard mat are ADA-compliant for access.

In keeping with FDA guidance on the anti-theft systems (EAS detectors) and walk-through metal detectors, it is recommended that visitors and system operators with implantable or wearable medical devices consult their device manufacturer or physician for information relating to their own specific device.  An alternative screening approach is recommended for anyone who has health and safety concerns.

The Evolv Express uses extremely low frequency radio waves (ELF) — a non-ionizing sensing modality — in compliance with IEEE C95.1-2019 Standard for Safety Level with Respect to EMF, the guidance for safe operation with the general public, which includes pregnant people and their unborn children. The IEEE is a leading developer of industry standards.

The Evolv Express uses extremely low-frequency radio waves (ELF). The ELF waves are compliant with IEEE C95.1-2019 Standard for Safety Level with Respect to EMF, the guidance for safe operation with the general public, which applies to regular, occupational, and infrequent exposure, and the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) 2010 guidance. The ICNIRP is an independent organization that provides scientific information and science-based advice on protection from non-ionizing radiations through a wide range of publications, and IEEE is a leading developer of industry standards.

Evolv’s objective is to provide the best security without compromising privacy or convenience. The information captured is a standard image and short video clip, like those taken from a smartphone camera or captured by CCTV. If a potential threat is detected, the image appears on-screen with a box highlighting where the threat is located to help security teams focus on that specific area. For clarity, Evolv does not otherwise collect, process, or use any other personal identifiable information. The images are automatically deleted after 30 days. The Evolv Express system has cameras to capture a photographic image of threats that are identified. When the system alarms, an image promptly appears on the guard’s tablet with a red box outline overlaid on the image to indicate the area of concern on a given person or their belongings.

Evolv Insights® provides information about visitor flow rates and alarm rates, broken down by entryway, time, and date. This provides a rich set of metrics for security and operations leaders to view and interrogate. Further, the data acquired by Evolv Express, and visible in the Evolv Insights web-based application, allows you to make critical decisions to improve security staffing and training, visitor traffic flow, operational efficiencies, and venue resource usage.
